By supporting populations affected by our country’s armed conflict through social reintegration programs and job opportunities, Tejido Humano creates conditions that promote reconciliation and peaceful co-existence for persons previously involved in the violence and affected by it.

RECYCLING OIL

Seeking to create environment-friendly enterprises, the project was started to collect, transport and recycle used oil products to convert them into regenerated fuel for industrial use.

SAT AQUARIUM

Hoping to rebuild the nation's social fabric by bringing together a group of former soldiers, reinstated soldiers, and displaced persons as a productive unit, this project was started as a commercial fish farm.

FOSTERING AGRICULTURE

Today this family of six can count on a steady and permanent income from the sale of produce from its banana plantation.

AGUA LIBRE

Project Agua Libre (Free Water) was started as an income-generating project for a group of former members of the security forces and their families.

AGUACATE HASS

Violence in this country is indiscriminate and affects everyone equally: whites, blacks, mestizos, or indigenous populations.  For several years now, this young man from an indigenous village in Cauca has been living with the consequences of the war when he lost part of his body due to an anti-personnel land mine. But through his hard work and with support from Tejido Humano as well as other organizations, he now has a Hass avocado farm that produces income for him and his family.

SUPPORT FOR EDUCATION 2008

In 2008, 117 persons took advantage of our job-training program: 41 undertook university studies, 3 received technical training, and 73 enrolled in basic primary and secondary school programs.

SUPPORT FOR EDUCATION 2009

Our program is two-pronged: 1. Strengthening qualifications for employment, based on the specific job requirements and the beneficiaries’ personal profile. 2. Formal education that raises the level of education and strengthens qualifications needed to compete in the job market. In 2009,  we helped 88 beneficiaries (49 in university, 3 in technical training and 36 in basic primary and secondary study programs).

AVES DEL CORRAL (CHIKEN FARM)

This project is a commercial chicken farm that generates income for a group of four families of former members of illegal armed groups through the sale of the eggs it produces.

AVICOLA PICO PICO (CHICKEN FARM)

A handicapped former soldier and his family (six persons) decided to start a commercial chicken farm in the Planeta Rica municipality (Córdoba).

AVICULTURA EL PROGRESO (CHICKEN FARM)

This is a family project managed by a young woman who, after many years of participating in the armed conflict, decided to build a new life for herself by starting a commercial chicken farm.

WELCOME TO THE IOM - TH HOUSE

International Cooperation Agreement with the International Organization for Migration to assist with training, job opportunities and the formulation, development and follow-up of productive projects, as a means of reintegrating into society former child soldiers and their families.

CACAO MONOMACHO

Buscando apoyar la reconciliación del país, conjuntamente con otras organizaciones, se decidió implementar un proyecto para la siembra y comercialización de 584 hectáreas de cacao, de las cuales 200 son plátano, en el Urabá Antioqueño.

Localización: Turbo -Antioquia

Aliados del Proyecto: Organización Internacional Para las Migraciones – OIM- Gobernación de Antioquia – Alta Consejería Para la Reintegración Social y Económica de Personas y Grupos Alzados en Armas – Corporación Colombia Internacional (Operador).

Número de Beneficiarios: Ciento cuarenta y seis (146) personas directas y sus familias


SPECIAL COFFEE GAITANIA

This Colombian who only knows farming lost his right leg due to an anti-personnel land mine.

CALZADO CODIGO SPORT (FOOTWEAR WORKSHOP)

Although the members of this group of former soldiers all suffer from severe handicaps, that did not stop them from starting a workshop for manufacturing footwear, in partnership with the private sector, that generates income for families associated with the project.
